Meet the Lamborns

Mike LambornWinegrowing - romantic? No, it’s more like “down to earth”. Vineyard operations are key to each vintage; Mike spends hundreds of hours each year nurturing the vineyard and adjusting it to the conditions of each growing season. Winery and vineyard administration makes the physical work seem easy. |

Terry LambornTerry makes winegrowing romantic after all! As Mike’s real boss, she even pitches in helping work the vineyard. Suckering, training, and hedging are just some of her specialities. In the office, processing orders from members and e-mail keep her busy all year. |

Brian LambornAfter graduating from Oregon State University Brian got a real-world education working for the Anheuser-Busch sales and marketing team in Portland and Denver. Is there life after beer? Of course! Brian moved to Australia where he worked in the premium wine industry in Sydney and expanded his knowledge of international wines. Brian has been managing the marketing and sales program for Lamborn wines for about 10 years now. He also operates an artisan tea company, Hana's Tea Company, found at www.hanatea.com. |

Sarah LambornSarah, Brian's wife, graduated from Stanford (a school who can't beat Oregon State in football) in 2000. She offers much support and creativity to the family business. Sarah continues Papa's tradition and writes a monthly article, "Lamborn On the Hill," for the St. Helena Star. Sarah is also a full-time Mom to their children, Hana, Fisher, and Dane. |

Matt LambornMatt graduated from the University of Southern California in 1996 where he studied Urban Planning and Development. He recently finished his Master of Landscape Architecture degree at the University of Oregon, where he researched the interface between humans, culture, and ecology. Matt integrates his academic knowledge into vineyard operations which include greater involvement in sustainable agricultural practices. |

Lori LambornLori graduated from UC Santa Cruz where she majored in Psychology. She uses everything she learned from this field of study (and then some) to try to better understand her husband, Matt. Thus far she has been unsuccessful and may consider a phD. Lori keeps very busy as an "Early Childhood Development Specialist" thanks to their baby daughter, Mary, born February 4, 2004. Lori brings great advice and support to Lamborn. |

Mary LambornRepresenting the fourth generation in the family business, Mary is the "Terroir Specialist." Being so much closer to the ground than the rest of us allows her to closely inspect our soil and nutrient composition. She makes recommendations for changes within the vineyard according to specific weather patterns and loves Cheerios and pointing. |

Hâna LambornHâna (or "Huckleberry" as she is affectionately known within the wine community) is currently an Enology student. This was a natural progression for her as a curious individual who likes getting her hands in everything. She loves this fulfilling field of study, bedtime stories, and sticking her tongue out. |

Fisher LambornFisher has become a viticulture expert, having spent his first entire year of life devoted to this "field." While specializing in vine and canopy management, he has been an invaluable asset in all aspects of vineyard managment. While he is growing too fast, his constant dinosaur sounds remind us he is still young. |

Dane LambornFollowing in the footsteps of his older brother and sister, Dane has been aggressively pursuing a career in the wine industry. While too short to reach the canopy without the help of the Kubota tractor, Dane is quickly learning all aspects of running the administrative side of a small winery; and Mike and Brian are thankful for the lightened workload. |

Jack LambornMatt and Lori's second child, Jack James ("JJ") is simply too young to be entrenched in the winery, and a little silly to think that he could be at this age. He does, however, have quite a bright future ahead of him. |
